A Look Back at the 2017 HPP Summit

After a successful inaugural HPP Summit in 2016, we wanted to grow that momentum going into the 2017 Summit. The goal this year was to provide a forum of education, collaboration, and networking, while collectively identifying how HPP can continue to make a meaningful and purposeful impact on the safety and quality of food and beverages.

Following the conclusion of the 2017 Summit, we conducted a survey of the event and received a very positive response. Almost 80% of attendees listed “networking” as the most valuable aspect of the Summit. One of our main goals was to promote an environment for companies to share ideas, best practices, and other cooperative information to help grow their businesses. One attendee commented, “If you are interested in understanding more about HPP and becoming connected to the who’s-who of the HPP world, this is the place to be.”

Educational sessions ranked high among attendees as well, including a breakout session by Dr. Errol Raghubeer (Senior VP of HPP Science and Technology, Avure Technologies) on RTE/RTC Products and Barb Stuckey’s (President & Chief Innovation Officer, Mattson) session on Product Innovation for HPP. David Acheson (President & CEO, The Acheson Group) provided the keynote address: Current Landscape of Food Safety. Other highlights from the HPP Summit include breakout sessions focused on sustainability and food waste reduction, HPP packaging solutions, regulatory guidelines, prevention of product harm crises, and more. Another survey response sums up the HPP Summit by saying it is an, “excellent venue to stay abreast of a rapidly growing technology space that has global implications for food safety, quality, and shelf life, and can drive your business.”
